CAMERA CRANE:
A camera crane is a nothing more than a really big jib arm—usually with a seat for a camera operator to ride in.

These things are really expensive to rent, but they give you spectacular shots. Interestingly, they are always manually operated—there are no motors. The human touch is smoother and more precise than any motor could be.

Typically, cranes are mounted on the back of a truck.

This crane has room for a camera operator AND a director. Thanks to expert counterweighting, the operator, who stands in the back of the truck, has fingertip control over the speed and direction of the crane arm.
