Composition > Toward and Away

It's also important to use diagonal lines when things are moving in the frame. You don't want movement to be horizontal across the frame--for the reasons we already discussed. Instead you want diagonal movement.

Toward or Away
There is a surefire technique to ensure this always happens: make sure the object moves toward or away from you. This is very important.

To make this happen, get close to the object's path and let it go right by you. The result is a quality shot--full of diagonal lines.
