A collection of shots, stitched together so that they seem to flow, is called a “Sequence.” Watch the scene again. Note how completely believable it is that that the man is reacting to the goal. That's the magic of sequences. They are an amazingly powerful tool.

Would this be intellectually honest in a documentary or news report? Is it ethical? I would say yes—because the man’s reaction approximates his real reaction to the play.  But what if the editor put a different shot at the end? Well, that would change everything......
