BAD Match

This video repeats the bad match you saw on the previous page. Cut the scene a little differently, and this sequence WILL match (below).

 

GOOD Match

The edit fixes the problem. Notice the man’s hand in the same position in both shots. Done properly, viewers don’t even notice an edit. If the action is matched, the scene just seems to flow naturally. This alignment is called a "matched cut" or “matched action.” If the action is matched, the scene just seems to flow naturally.
