Graphics are an important part of the production experience. Motion graphics are central to most big-budget movies, and even regular TV shows. Again, a full discussion of this topic is well beyond the scope of this course--but a few basics are worth noting.


Unlike the printed page (which can be almost any shape) television graphics must fit in the 16 by 9 ratio of HD television.

While old tube televisions are 3x4, modern televisions are all 16x9.
